Anyone in Chicago area have valve adjustment tool?
You don't need a specialty tool to perform a valve adjustment on Honda motors.
You just need a 10mm deep socket/ratchet and a standard screwdriver. Angled feeler gauges too.

How do you torque down the lock nut then without the adjustment screw moving? You'd have to take the screwdriver out to get a ratchet on the deepsocket, and as soon as you turn the socket, the screw turns with it messing up the clearance, right?
The specialty tools have a handle attatched lower on the socket so you can torque down the socket WHILE holding the screwdriver in the correct place so the adjustment screw doestn't turn with the lock nut.
Is there another way to prevent the screw moving without the special tool?

I love how people are quick to criticize, but slow to respond when they might be wrong.
Anyone have one of these tools? I'd really like to get the job done on Sunday. If I had more time, I'd just order one off Amazon for $15, but it won't get here in time.
Thanks!!

go ghetto and bend a 10mm wrench like this...that's what I did.

We use this tool, actually is modified for b series engines, I forgot if it was to big or to small but the socket on the end was not the right size so we cut it off and welded on a new socket. Leave me a deposit and you can borrow it.
Thanks, I already did the job.
For anyone that's curious, you can take a 10mm deep socket and force it into (I used a vice) a 5/8ths open ended wrench. It's press fit tight enough so that it can tighten down the lock nuts without coming loose itself.
