Default Calling all JDM conversion....

Hey everybody,
Well I am now an owner of a JDM front end.
My only problem is after getting the rad support installed and everything, they autobody shop is telling me that my bumper does not fit properly!!
They say it's about 1/2" out. Does anybody know why this might be or is there something I can do to correct this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

"few select," lol. I hope you were joking around with that statement, cause that's just lame.

The stock JDM bumper does not fit with the USDM bumper support...it must be modified to fit correctly...a good body/fabrication shop should be able to correct your problem. The Mugen bumper fits on without any problems.

I have the JDM rad support on. They say it still doesn't fit properly. About 1/2 inch out they say. Should it be like that?

And as for my "select few" comment, I understand you americans have a much greater population (280 million vs. 30 million) so obviously we don't have as many up north here. Actually I"m the only one in my city with one.

If you're in Canada there's probably more ITRs with the JDM front than the USDM front.

You just became one of the many, get over it. No biggie. Be happy, you is sooo JDM now!!!

Hey

you know what... you got the radiator support BUT.... DID you get the bumper extention and bumper support?.....

Radiator support only holds the headlight....
Then the bumper support is connect to that
Then the bumper extension is bolted on the bumpersupport
An the bumper cover sits on bumper extension....

Or if you mean the bumper support is too far...
Then the idot body shop sucks dick
Cuz they suppose to bolt the radiator support on the car
and test for fitment before freaking start welding....

Dont go back to that shop!!!!!

I did the JDM conversion myself so I know how it goes.. trust me... lose those mechanics...

I just got my kit.. and the bodyshop was mentioning something about not seeing a bumper support which is on the US integ. He said he was suprised not to see a big foam piece and another piece. Should I be getting these separate from the JDM front package? Where?

you have 2 choices:
A. cut off either end of the USDM bumper support. Don't try w/ a hacksaw, just take it to a muffler shop and have them burn it off. Then you still have to make some brackets to support the new bumper.
B. perchase it through http://www.optauto.com. Its a 2 piece thing, Bumper reinforcement($60) and bumper extension ($110). you need both cause they bolt onto each other.

i dunno what they did to ur car, but mine looks fine. there is no reason that the bumper should be sticking out. so you mean the bumper is not flush with fenders??? or what? Maybe they tried to reuse theusdm foam piece and just drilled the ****** on? i dunno. get it redone by a competent shop. you get what you pay for.
