simple. take off hte covers from the car. scuff the plastic with grey scotch brite till all the shiny surfaces arent shiny anymore so paint will stick. or use 800 sandpaper. use wet towel to clean it off. its ok to do it this way since its plastic. if it was metal u use wax and grease remover after the dust is blown off. lay it on some newspaper i assume your not doing this at a shop. spray first coat about six+ inches away. about 3-4 thin coats is good. thin is better than thick runs
wait about 2-5 min between coats depending on the weather. the colder it is the longer u wait.

good info except that you forgot the most important step... plastic adhesion promotor. you should spray 1-2 thin coats right after cleaning the part, before spraying base. if you don't use it there's a good chance that nothing will go wrong at all, but an equally good chance that with the first stone chip, it'll turn into peeling that gets much worse.

also, in addition to redline it's post... just remember that base goes on dry/medium and your clear goes on medium/wet. don't load up on the color. once it's black, it's black. that's it. lol. can't make it blacker. the clear is the only thing you need to get to 'flow out' a bit.

a heavy hand will make it turn out like ****, but if you take your time and remember the light coats thing, you'll be fine. post up some pics when you're done!

the plastis adhesion promotor is good. but i dont think flatblack would need clear otherwise it would be glossblack

i had to re-read the OP to make sure, but he will definitely want to clear them. i think you misunderstood 'FBP', i believe he means flamenco black pearl, not flat black. like he said, he wants to color match to the car.

you're right, i mean flamenco black pearl. i'm going to be doing 3 coats of primer, 3 coats of paint, and 3 coats of clearcoat. that sound ok?
