gsr throttle body on typeR intake manifold
the real question is why would you do this? the diameters are different, which i assume you know. also, the cables you'll be using will be different lengths unless you rig something up. hopefully this is just a temporary fix. GL.
i do not know this, thats why i'm asking about it. basically what i am doing is putting a usdm type r head w/ intake manifold on my gsr block. i am wondering if i need to buy a different throttle body for reasons like jomama (lol) mentioned. any other concerns i should have? oh, its going in a 2000 gsr body, so i would think the cable would work fine unless the typer intake manifold is completely different size.
Everything is compatible except for the throttle pulley, which will determine which throttle cable and bracket(s) you will use.
You can do it one of two ways:
1.) Swap the throttle pulley on the GS-R TB for a B16 or ITR one. The problem with this is that the throttle pulleys are only sold with the throttle bodies. If you want one, you'll have to cannabalize it off another throttle body.
2.) Use the GS-R throttle pulley and buy the GS-R throttle cable and throttle cable bracket if it's not already on there.

i guess i'm not quite following you here.... i have a gsr tb with all gsr cables and stuff, stock gsr setup on my gsr. are you saying that i can just use that stuff and hook it up to a typer tb? or can i just hook the whole gsr tb up to the new manifold, or is that a bad idea because the diameters are diff?

The difference in diameters is okay. As long as the throttle body is smaller than the inlet on the manifold.
Remove the pulley, spring, and bracket from the GS-R throttle body, and install it on the ITR TB.

What you are trying to do will work fine. The only problem you might have is the throttle cable might hit against the hood of the car because the type r intake manifold has the throttle body higher up than the gsr manifold. If the cable does hit the hood, then you would need to buy an ITR throttle cable, throttle cable bracket, and put a non gsr pulley on your gsr throttle body. (the gsr is setup to pull the throttle from above, whereas the type r throttle pulls straight horizontally.) this gets rid of that bracket that sticks up above the throttle body on the gsr, and moves it away from the hood.
if the cable does not hit, then you will be fine using the stock gsr, TB, bracket, and cable.
i have the gsr motor in my del sol, and the cable hits the hood with a type r style intake manifold. you may not have this problem in an integra though.
