i was driving my car the other day, got on it a little, heard a pop, and it died...i would crank it back up and it barely stay running, give it some gas, and it would rev up and start knocking like crazy

so i pulled the engine out, drained the oil...no brass.

took out the pistons and rods. none were flat

i was just right down the road from my house and it prob only knocked for a MAX of about 30 seconds. is it possible that it might have not acctually spun the bearing, maybe the oil pump went out, and it had just started knocking?

the motor is a b18b block GSR head, arp rod bolts and head studs, stock internals.

ill be back up in a min to post up pics of the rod bearings.

maybe some carbon got knocked loose in the combustion chamber.

 

sorry i forgot about this...ill get some pics of the crank tomorrow, its to dark now. but the motor was def knocking, and wouldnt stay running, i guess since i have it apart, ill pull the mains to be safe.

Im thinking that maybe the oil pump could have went out...causing the motor to knock, and since i didnt run it but like 30 maybe 45 seconds total, there just isnt any damage...


who knows?
