Got a EM1. Wanted to know if the shifter **** can be taken off and replaced with after market.

 

its threaded on. probably pretty tight. just turn it to the left. kinda like taking a soda cap off

 

Ya, i've tried that. the whole shifter turns. I'll give it another try.

 

huh, I doubt the whole shifter is turning, there is no way that is possible. Do you see the shifter turning or just the shift boot. If it's just the shift boot, pop it down and continue to turn shift **** counter clockwise.

 

The stock shiftknob on the EM1's clips into a ring on the top of the shift boot, very similar to the accords. You should be able to unclip the boot from the ****, then unscrew it off. Just push the clips and tug the boot down.

I took my friends em1 stock shift **** and put that bich on my del sol. Screwed right in no prob.

 

yeah, then sell me the stock shift ****.
