Default Running rich ruin o2 sensor?

Can running rich ruin a perfectly new o2 sensor in any way? because I just changed my fuel pump to a walbro one and I don't have a fpr and fpg yet and I'm still throwing code 43. So next thing I was gunna do was change my o2 sensor, but I didn't want to waste money on an o2 sensor if its just gunna get ruined anyways.

i would definitely get a fpr and guage first. what might be happening is there is too much fuel pressure and the computer can no longer compensate. install the fpr and guage first, adjust pressure to the correct value.. and then clear the code. see if that works. if code 43 comes back, there is a chance the o2 sensor is done.
