Default JDM CTR steering wheel install

I have an SRS CTR steering wheel and i'll be installing it on my EM1. I've read a few install threads and it seems pretty staright forward. I'm concerned about having the airbag deploy and I was wondering if there is anything special or different about hooking up the srs wires from the jdm wheel. If I decide to not hook up the SRS, do i run the risk of having the airbag deploy? I know these seem like dumb questions but I want to do this right and not waste a perfectly good jdm ctr wheel. thanks!

best thing to do is to make sure the battery is disconnected first.

then, make sure that you are grounded yourself so that you don't create and static electricity (just incase!).

i think it'll be safer if you connect the airbag as well instead of leaving it off. don't want that annoying SRS light to come on in your cluster either. if you don't hook it up, i'm sure there's a chance that it could still deploy by accident somehow...

if you disconnect....i think the yellow plug in the back of the cluster the SRS light will not light up.
