CTR SRS Steering Wheel
Hi, I have a 99 Civic Hatcbhack, and I was thinking of getting a JDM CTR SRS steering wheel, but I have a few questions. Is it possible to get the airbag to function? Can I get the airbag to deploy in the event of an accident?

Re: CTR SRS Steering Wheel (Airbag Club)
Also, I know for a fact if you happen to get into a big wreck (well, I hope not) and some odd reason the JDM CTR airbag doesn't deploy. The insurances company will look into it in great length. And if they happen to find out its not the actual steering wheel that came orginally from the car, you are F**K. Your insurance can and will drop you.
Something you may want to look into consideration.

Re: CTR SRS Steering Wheel (SANBST)

Re: CTR SRS Steering Wheel (AK1200)
i bought mine from some guy up near NY city for 800 coin!!
i needed it that week, and since I was able to go and actually look at the one i was buying it was in dead perfect condition, plus he gave me some CTR magazine from 1997. which was a cool bonus, he was a cool guy he was japanese and brought with him a CTR recaro for me to drool over because i was too poor and could not afford both
but yeah i pretended to drive home with it the whole way down the turnpike (3hrs)

Re: CTR SRS Steering Wheel (pkek)
btw....
i've seen them go (the airbag version we are talking about) for anywhere between $300 and $1050) the 800 i paid was steep, i wouldnt pay over that because you can find them perfect or just as new for like 700 or less. Average is liek 400-700.
so justr say 550ish

i dont see what your steering wheel has to do w/ you insurace policy, and if you are not hurt then who **** cares if you have an airbag or not. but i can totally understand how they could get away with something like that.
OT: nice insurance story for you, i got sideswiped like 2 months ago(100% other parties fault) and i needed to rent a car b/c my car was not driveable for a month. when all is said and done my moms creditcard get the bill for 1500$ b/c met-life (the girl who hit me insurance carrier) said that my car was drivable the whole time and they would only cover 5 days, we are still in dispute..... **** insurance i hope they ******* rot, they will screw even the most genuine claim to save a buck, this is their ******* buisiness they have to honor their responsiblily. its fight club time in my ****** mind. **** em... thats why our country and society is in such a downward spiral, its just people dickin people... nothing more

Re: CTR SRS Steering Wheel (euclid)
go to court....you'll win, juhst watch and see.
of course i know the hassle factor of it, having to go and all, and in the state of maryland, you have the choice of who you get to take it to, so insurance cant tell you to go to their horrible place or anything but most insurance companies will pay for up to 30 days rental

Just an FYI...
Modifying or disconnecting the SRS system on a vehicle in the United States is illegal unless you receive permission from NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Association). Your insurance company has the right to not cover you if an unauthorized safety modification has been performed.
