Check inside of the exhaust tip for black residue. Sign of most likely oil burning issues (probably the most common problem for ITRs).
Also search, there are plenty of threads on what to look for. Welcome.

x2. yep, i'd start there. if you can, you can run a compression test... check for any leaks under the car... receipts for anything modified. you might as well assume it was run hard

ok i agree with you on your post, but any exhaust is gonna have black residue somewhere. and burning oil is a common problem with these cars.
even when i first put my mugen twin loop on the car with less than 1k miles on the motor it was still black on the tip.
all things aside we are trying to help the op but i think there are so many more things to look for the list can go on

I dont think there is an ITR out there that doesnt have black residue in the exhaust.
