Default clogged windshield sprayer

Recently one of my sprayers lost its pressure and squirts about 3in. lol

I tried taking a tooth pick and a sewing needle and poked it around the opening hole to possibly let loose some dirt that may be clogging it. But the problem still persists. So I think its in plastic tube. Any suggestions?

BTW I ran out of wiper fluid so I used regular water . Could that possibly have lead to this?

Take an air compressor, and reverse blow it. Solved the problem for me.

I second that notion. I would also check the fluid resiovoir, they are common for sludge ( looks like smurf spooge ) that will sit at the bottom near the pump, i dont neccessarily think that would be your problem because it sounds like one is working. You can always remove the fluid line from the sprayer causing you problems and try to spray them if fluid comes out that line then replace or fix the sprayer.

if spraying it with an air compressor doesnt work take the sprayer off of your hood and spray it with some carb/choke cleaner. should clear it right out

I usually just take the spray gun from my garden hose and blast those dirts out of there. I think the regular water can cause build up over time, because I guess there are minerals in the tap water.

I had the same problem, just use an air compressor and diconnect the washer hoses under the hood and blow thru them, worked fine for me.

Aight. I did the air hose spray solution once. This time I did not have one available and it seemed like the air hose did not do a good enough job last time.

This time this is what I did: I got some hot water and some vinegar (I used red wine b/c its what I had) and put them in a pot. (Small) I boiled them and moved them around with some tongs.

I would take them out every once in a while and cool at least the outside of them with cold water and blow into them and sucked on the end of them. If I put my finger over one of the washer nozzles I could work on getting the crud out of them one at a time. If I would make a vacuum and let go of one nozzle creating a sneezing effect, stuff would come out. Do not swallow or inhale the stuff...

If they where still plugged I would put them back in a boil them more. They wont melt. The boiling water should move them around a bit. I would also sometimes grab hold of one and swish it back and fourth in the pot maybe creating movement inside of it. I was cooking some food at the same time so I let em boil for a while. Overall it probably took a good 45 min.

I do not think that it will take that long for you and you most likely not need that much time but I was not in a hurry. I was also patient.

Mine was clogged bad because I had some debris in my washer fluid reservoir at one point. But it was this black stuff that looked like plastic. It could have just been build up but I did not analyze it.

I do not know if these have some type of rubber valve so that the washer fluid does not recede but at this point I do not care. As in I did not care if the boiling would effect any rubber.

My washer fluid shooters work great now. Long gone are the days driving down the highway Ace Ventura style.

I used vinegar because they use it to clean coffee pots. It seemed right and was all I had. If you use a solvent or something harsh be sure to check if you could put the stuff to your mouths. I'm sure some chemicals you should not boil as you will create poison gas and die. Or maby not. I am pretty sure you should not boil Windex or bleach but you may be able to get away with some other ****.

Know what after some quick googles...Just use vinegar...

NOTE: I tried poking a pin through the holes and it would go fine. It must have been something else.

thats what i always do, i have even left them on my car. usually i use a compressor though. once i used some stuff you put in your fluid to help repel water (i think it was even rain-x brand, usually good stuff, right?)... NEVER AGAIN! it turned into thick smurf spoog floating on top after about a week and clogged everything. it took me like 20 minutes to clear it out. luckily that car had an easily removable reservoir.

lol at the ace ventura comment. that reminds me of my teg, the previous owner shaved the squirters because he was a dumb a** so all i had was a hose tucked in the corner of my hood near the windshield. i must have looked way cool reaching out my window doing 60 to grab the hose and point it at my windshield while i sprayed it and in turn got sprayed in the face when the wiper got to that side of the windshield lol safety at its finest!
