Hi,
I have a 5th gen prelude with stock tranny. I want to know what has to be done in order to have my 5th gear, or correct me if im wrong the final drive, lowered. I think thats what I want.
Im not a fan of the fact Im on the highway and my cruising speed of 60mph puts me at 3k rpm's, or 80mph at 4k. So I want to know what has to be done to achieve lower rpm's in my 5th gear.
Would the rest of my gears have to be changed to compensate the lower gear?
What if I was planning on upgrading the motor to run boost? But I guess then I would have to know how much boost I really am trying to run in order to use that boost in each gear.
Hopefully I am making some sense and not sounding like an idiot.
Thank you for reading and hopefully someone can help me understand and lead me in the right direction
Thank you,
Jp

im not sure if you can just swap out gears or not, nor if it would be funtional, but i just switched from having an f22 trans. in my 5th gen, and i didnt hit 3k rpms until about 75. highway gas was incredible. if you arent concerned about the power loss, you can find those transmissions around for about $250. PM me if you are interestred in one.
