you would be puffin out white smoke and have oil in your anti freeze if it were a head gasket. are you losing coolant first off? is your rad fan turning on? was it a new thermostat you replaced it with?(not one form a friends junk pile or the auto wrecker) is there anything blocking your rad. hose's? check simple things like that first and get back to us.

nope no signs of white smoke but I did remember seein water comin out the exhaust tip once. n everytime it over heats the coolant shoots right out. n I even went as far as to riggin up the ac fan to stay on to add a lil aid 4 coolin it down. n tht didn't help either.. the car runs great tho. all the power is there. its a d15 by the way. stock engine. this is the 4th ef tht I hav bought so I kno how it shld run but the prob is I never had any probs like this one b4 so I'm stuck guessin n shyt. my previous ef9 had a b16 but got stolen a couple months baq. well anyways I bought the most expensive thermastat tht autozone had. no signs of the radiator or radiator hoses being cracked either. I spent all afternoon yestaday sprayin it down wit a spray bottle to check 4 any possibe leaks It might have but no signs of any leak or smoke. I recently asked a head mechanic out here in casa grande n he tld me most likely it could b the head gasket? but I'm stuck n it sux. n anotha ques? wld it b cheaper to jus buy a new d15 head or to take it in to hav the gasket replaced??

easy to remove the head. tak the head assembly apart, take off your exhaust manifold but keep the intake mani on ( make sure everything is disconnected and labeled if you dont know exactly what is what ) and peel the head off if you have check all other options.

just get the head resurfaced even if its not out because while its off, its a cheap and good thing to do. head gaskets range in price depending on what name you want. get a fel-pro because they are cheap and reliable. if i were you i would just take the head off myself( buy a helms book or pull something off the net for refrence's incase you get stuck ) and then peel everything off the head and take it to a machine shop and they will clean it and resurface it. its cheap. I would normally charge *friends* 60$ + matterial to change a head gasket
