02 Honda Civic Auto Tranny Removal
Just a quick question. I've done it on my Integra and a couple of other cars but I wanted to confirm before I started completely. Now I am trying to take the tranny out by lowering the engine enough to where I can sneak the tranny out the wheel well. I noticed that the support starts at the rear of one wheel well and goes up to the radiator wraps the front and then goes to the back of the other wheel well. I was thinking that I have to take out the bolt on each side at the rear of the wheel well where bar is also that has two bolts on each side of that. Will this allow the engine to drop disregarding everything else except the support? Am I missing something dealing with this? First time working on a Civic. Probably could figure it out eventually but I figured this would be faster. Thanks.

01-05 Civic trannies are a cake walk.
You need to remove the subframe though(4 bolts, fr/rr mounts, and lower ball joints).
The engine MUST be supported before doing so. You can use an engine hanger from the top, or use a pole jack from under when using a lift(just make sure everything is disconnected up top before doing so).
Other than that, there's not much to them
