I have a honda civic 1992, 4 speed automatic. I have a transmission problem, when reaching second gear, I have to reduce speed for it to switch. Then I have to reduce to get to 3rd. That applys with 4th. What am I looking at here? I really don't know what the problem is, any ideas would be helpful.

 

did you check the fluid? is it burnt? If not i'd guess that the valve body is worn somewhat, either live with it or swap in another transmission. If the fluid looks bad, or smells burnt change it, use new honda fluid from the dealership.
