What's a exhuast shop ussualy charge for welding?
I have a 00 civic si. Basically a while back I bought a header that didn't fit. In order to get it to fit I cut the pipe on my cat-back and turned the end near the cat end about 30 degrees to match up with the rabbit ears on the header. I put a sleeve on the cut area (its a dc catback btw) sealed it with rtv and clamped it until I could get it welded. Unfornately the guy that welded it blew a hole in it. I took the sleeve off and slid a piece of flex pipe over it to hold it all in place.
I moved out to OK for a few months from IL for some work training and the roads out here are terrible. They have a really high center and I bottomed out on it last night. It's still held together but it leaks like crazy. There's a muffler shop up the road that "weld's everything".
Since I'm an out of towner, I don't wanna get screwed over. I was curious what the average labor is for welding a new sleeve on the pipe.
Also, would a welder be able to weld it with it on the car(it would give me a good idea of how long it would take)?

Re: (batallic)
Since the pipes can't technically be welded together because they aren't touching, they would have to put a section of pipe over it, and weld it in place. I know that would eliminate the noise, but would the shape of the inside of the pipe be a problem?

Re: (Allurian)
ok. Sorry, I don't know much about welding at all. I would've just clamped it again but everytime I clamp it, it leaks. The cut wasn't the straightest either and there was a big ball of weld on the top of the pipe that I tried to grind down the last time but it wouldn't budge.
