F22 trans fit B18?
ok so i have a LS/vtec swap in my civic, and i need a tranny. I can get an f22 tranny for free. I know there is the F2B deal where you mate a b series trans to the f series motor, so will it work the other way around? I know the f series trannys are prolly crap, but i need this car to get me to and from school right now. So if anyone knows if this will work, PLEASE post up. And if you know why it wont work, please explain. Thanks
seeing as how theres pretty much no target market for this type of swap i'd say no, the adapter plate would have to be a mirror image, and even them might not work depending on what the transmission input shaft is like on the F-series tranny. Even if it was a free transmission it really wouldn't make any sense to use it, you need to cut a larger hole in the floor and use prelude/accord shifter cables and you'll need custom or aftermarket mounts. Sell the F22 tranny and buy a hydro b-series transmission, much easier.
