bought my 00 ek with a d16y8 motor and i think its half built stock d16y7 and other half with y8s. today i noticed my friends 00 em stock d16y8 has a lot bigger intake manifold then mines and his headers went down into 2 pipes and mines is 1. my question is if they did built my motor up with y7 and y8 would the engine still run and would there really be a difference?

 

and my headers has like a dipstick in the middle of it and my friends stock 00 em didnt

 

yes it is difference, that big thing that the headers has on the meadle is like a catalitic and the stock y8 headers doesnot have, it make a big difference and more if you have anothe catalitic on the pipe

 

neither the Y7 nor the Y8 has the dipstick through the exhaust... that's an older block to say the least. maybe Z6..?
