Default 6th Gen Stereo/non-stock ecu question

I am wanting to put the stock CD player back in my '98 Accord. My car does not have the ecu that it came with. Is there any sort of security "immobilizer" in the stock CD player that will prevent it from working in my car with an ecu that was not originally used in this car?

The radio will have a security code that you will need to input. It is in no way connected with the ECU. So as long as you have the code for the radio, you'll be fine.

If you register on owners link on Honda's website and enter your vin, they will provide you with the radio code.

Are you selling the car? I was just wondering why you'd want to put that unit back in. But yes, the code is radio specific, not car specific, so the ECU change doesn't matter.

doesnt that site work with only the first registered owner of the vehicle? i tried this before and it didnt work for me ... dealer charged me 10 to give me the code only because i took out the stereo to get the serial number myself
