Spring rates - Hows the ride?? Too stiff??
I have (or will have) acquired koni shocks with springs (as partial trade for misc. engine parts) The previous owner used them on his race ITR (autocross).
The rates are 450lbs for the front and 550lbs for the rear.
I was curious on who has a similar setup and how it handled on the streets (daily driving), I was thinking of maybe swapping the rates front and rear, but unsure as the guy I am getting them from seem to be knowledgeable and overall pretty smart in the supension/handling of his car.
BTW, this is for my GSR and I already have 23mm ITR rear sway and also getting the rear lower arms as part of the trade deal.

Ride quality depends most on the kind of tires and the quality of the dampers you use.
I can drive my 18K/16K car all day long -- but I've ridden in softly sprung cars that were over-lowered and made my fillings loose

These rates are the normal "off the shelf" rates for an Integra. You will be fine, not any more harsh than stock, IMO.

What I was thinking. 450/550 is pretty light.

After driving around almost a whole year on stock ITR suspension, anything above that feels hard.
The 8k/6k on my friend's LS feels jarring to the kidneys sometimes. I think I need a couch cushion.

They're just Tein SS's. I have 10k/12k on my Tein RE's when I'm not using the stock ITR stuff. The RE's are out for a rebuild right now.

I thought normally the higher spring rates was for the fronts. It seems everyone agrees that I will be fine with the higher (550) spring in the back and the 450 fronts.
The koni shocks are valved for the spring rates as I was told. thanks

Well, there are about 86 bazillion different variables to account for when dealing with suspension setups, not the least of which are driver preference and driving style.
I used to run Ohlins dampers with 14k/6k springs and people thought I was crazy. I just happen to have really liked the way it handled and it suited the way I drove quite nicely.

Running 10k/12k Swifts on Mugen Showa shocks and I love it..... bad back and all. Awesome on the track too.
I'm running TEIN RE's 14k/10k or 783/559. It is fine on smooth roads but if you get on elevated sections of interstate where there are spacers and bumps. It can make for a pretty rough ride even with the EDFC set on the highest value.
What's with everyone running stiffer springs in the rear? I thought that was preferred only on drag coilovers/setups.

because people obviously don't like having neutral handling setups with controllable oversteer and want the back end wandering around all over the place.

People seem to prefer stiffer rear springs to get the back end out more on the track. I could be wrong, but I believe I read a while ago that this was the preference among many of the track guys

I added a jdm 23mm rear sway/beaks setup a while back. That was all the oversteer from the rear I needed. It was a night/day difference over the stock gsr.
Take Wai's setup for example... stiffer rear rates.
Seems to be a JDM vs USDM setup.
But your only looking at part of the equation...
Dampners... sway bars... driving style...
Not to mention your alignment settings.
