Not to be an A$$ but that grocery list you posted up there looks like it contains a wee bit more than just JDM Type S pistons only !

I dont see whats so confusing about it. People do builds with CTR and ITR pistons in B series correct? The only difference is im talking about H's and the JDM type S pistons.

I never said I was confused.

<TABLE WIDTH="90%" CELLSPACING=0 CELLPADDING=0 ALIGN=CENTER><TR><TD>Quote, originally posted by VolkswagenWHO!!! &raquo;</TD></TR><TR><TD CLASS="quote">Lets see your H builds with OEM Type S Pistons only!</TD></TR></TABLE>

I merely pointed out that you are using more than just type S pistons in your build. And that you have asked for H22 builds that used "only" type S pistons. Does this clear up any confusion for ya.

That's all I was trying to say

That and the fact that the 6 of these threads posted per week are boring

That is a nice grocery list ya got there. Have you built it yet?

Oh that's right, you mentioned that your guessing that your list of parts may net you 11.5ish CR & 250ish Hp. So I will assume that this build is still in boxes on the store shelves.

Well good luck with your build

Don't worry about my "grocery list". If you dont have anything useful to post relating to the topic then go somewhere else with your BS. Anyways come on guys lets see them!

The setup before I tore it down due to faulty piston ring scroing up cylinder #1:
h22 with type s pistons
h23 crank and rods
h22a head no porting
Skunk pro 2 manifold
Pro 2 cams
70mm tb
SSR Side exit

Made 235 hp 172 ft pounds before cylinder #1 starting losing a **** load of compression. PED was thinking it would of made somewhere between 240-250 hp. I'm now doing an f2b with the 97 crank hope to make 250+.

The H22 Type S Pistons have weak ring landings, just like all the H22 pistons. I made 240hp/180tq at the wheels on my H23VTEC - but the ring landings failed in all four cylinders at the first track day. Yes it was fully tuned, broken in, etc etc.

Here's a pic of the pistons after they blew:

It was a wicked setup while it lasted. I should have done it right - sleeved the block and used forged pistons. OEM H series pistons can't handle that much power

sorry to hear about that. What kind of piston rings were you running? Were those OEM pistons or the Nippon's?

I am putting together an h22 with type s pistons and I'll be running pro 1's with bolt ons looking for about 210 wheel. I'm using OEM rings and OEM type s pistons
the head got finnished this week and I'll be dropping off the pistons and rings on monday so we'll see what happens.

Be careful, you might stick you foot in your mouth without realizing it . . .

Just because you've never seen an OEM H22 Type S Piston with an aftermarket molly skirt before doesn't mean they don't exist.

Because I'm a nice guy, here's a pre-installation picture:

And a couple from the track after we blew it up:

I'll post the video of the dyno tuning if you ask nicely . . .

I am using these pistons on my daily driver and I hope I don't have these type of problems because I don't wanna take the bus... and Please if your going to drag race your car on tha track and beat on it... please get forged pistons... I don't wanna see anymore pics it is just making me nervious I have spent a lot of my money on this build and I don't wanna see it go up in smoke....
