Default 1990 accord h22a1

just wanted to tell everyone that knowone helped me with my qestion.I did get an but chewing from well all just say some guy who wants to rent someones s2k. Sorry for spelling vtec (vtech) it was a typing error.I thought I would share what I learned. The tach in my car would start jumping around and when it reached about 4200-4500 rpm it would begain to miss and backfire and sometimes die.I put a post up here and like I said only one responded. And it was just to give me a hard time.So I dont know if I affended everyone by spelling Vtec wrong or if knowone knew the answer.Which is what I will assume. So the proublem ended up being a ICM or ignitor.

Only read halfway through and then it got too difficult to read.

Tach bouncing around indicates bad coil/ignitor, swap your distributor and call it good.

Got some improper sentences and grammar errors. It's all good though. Did you get the problem fixed yet?

I couldn't understand half of that paragraph

Which if the original thread was like that I could see why no one responded - from not understanding. Not really trying to jock you but can't understand = can't diagnose.

i too could barely understand what you just posted. however i didn't see your original post but had i, i probably would have been able to answer you question. i recently had that happen to me and after research found out what i needed to do and i never had the problem again. but you don't need to swap the distributor to do it. takes all of 20 mins of your time, some di electric grease, and pliers.

Pliers? Come on now, just buy a decent screwdriver and that's all you need.

yes pliers. you'll need to squeeze the spade connectors a tad bit. most people have pliers so use them or your teeth. you choose. how do i know, because i researched the fix and did it myself. speaking from experience.

I use my fingers on the spade connectors, I don't have dainty hands like some people do, so I manage to pull those big, bad connectors off just fine.

PS - I thought you were using pliers to remove the screws that sometimes get stuck, that's why I mentioned the screwdriver thing.
