B16B timing belt question

Default B16B timing belt question

I bought a greddy timing belt for my b16a but then the motor got messed up. I'm pickin up a b16b tomorrow. Will the belt still fit?

And yes i searched

Nope, the B16B uses a B18C shortblock and has a higher deck height than the B16A. You will need a B18C1/5 timing belt.

i called up GReddy and they said it would fit since it was the same part number

They should know better. As mentioned, the B16B uses the same timing belt as the B18C.

i was told by them to try it anyways, not a big deal im swapping this weekend anyways

Don't bother, it's too short.

Listen to everyone else here, and get the belt for a B18C.

The b18/B16B block is taller than the B16A(#) block by .354. LOL?

which mounts do i need from hasport with a 16b??? the egstk or dcstk??? please let me know cuz the dcstk are for 94-01 tegs but say they are compatable with 92-95 eg with b18c1/5

Any B16A should use the same Belt, tensioner and timing belt, Correct?

I have a B16A, but I have no idea what designates it as a 1, 2 or 3 nor how to tell
