i have a 98 R and when i try to start it it just ticks and dosent turn over......this only happens sometimes but not all the time............soem people say its the starter and others say it the alternator......i just got a new battery too and a skunk 2 p28 with ls wiring harness.......can you help me please?

 

If you had a 66 mustang, I would say its the starter relay.
Do ITRs have starter relays?

Does you battery put out enough to power the radio?

yes everything works fine lights, radio, and all electricals....

 

Most of the time my R starts up VERY quickly but sometimes it hesitates a little bit. My friend told me something about pistons lining up a certain way before the car starts up.

 

Lol, i had a problem like that with hondas some times and make sure your steering wheel isn't locked when you try to start it or it doesn't start...just clicks
hope thats the prob...

 

When this happens, does all the electric stuff (like light, dashboard lights) work or did they fell off? If everything goes off when your starter just click, then check the battery poles. Maybe they're loose or oxidated.

if its the steering wheel thing then you gotta hold the wheel to one side to let it start by the way...
