2002 Accord EX Coupe-Check Engine Light on Error P700 and P740
For my 02 Accord, the check engine light was on and i got the error codes as P0700 and P0740 from Autozone and the light was reset (its off now) and didnt turn up again
One thing I noticed that was my gas tank lid was not closed properly when the light turned on and i closed it properly. but still the light was on.. then i went to Autozone had the codes read and reset the light.. But i dont notice any change in the drive (it was on for 2 days)
can somebody please suggest if i need to take any action?
Thanks in advance

Both of those DTCodes have to do with an automatic transmission.
P0700 - Problem with A/T Control System. - This would point towards the TCM
P0740 - Problem in Lock-up control system. - This would be looking at the lock-up control solenoid on the top of the transmission.
First off do you have an automatic transmission? If you do, are you having any hard shifting problems with your transmission or problems getting in and out of gears?

Is it running bad?
You never actually stated that how the car was runnign previous to having hte CEL turned off.
If your car is running good and your not having any driveability problems then I would say it may be an intermittent problem. Maybe some water or dirt shorted a connection from the Lock up Solenoid??? hard to tell if your not having any problems and the CEL hasn't come back on.
Check any wires & connectors going to your transmission. Make sure they are clean and dry and aren't loose.
