Default High RPM engine cut...?

If I am pushing my 03 Si hard in 2nd or 3rd gear once it gets to about 4500-5500 (never really pay attention to figure out exactly when) I feel the engine kind of cut for just a second and then keep going. Almost as if it hits a dead spot in fuel or something? Anyone have any idea? I thought at first maybe my clutch would slip but the RPMs don't jump up so I know it isn't that. It just stutters for a fraction of a second and then pulls hard again.

THanks guys.

I would probably start with changing plugs. then maybe check fueling (filter/pump).

Gonna give you a break because you're new to the k-series. (k-series uses coil packs)

Before replacing anything (before guess work), read the plugs.

I do have 60K on the original plugs but they seem fine and it does it at the same RPM every time. But it doesn't do it all the time. If that makes sense. I know that Iridium plugs should last like 100K but that is all depending on driving conditions. I think I am going to start with fuel filter and plugs. I'll let you guys know!

Jesus christ dude 60K on original plugs? I'd change that ****. I like to practice the rule: change plugs after every other oil change. That way I know everythings in great shape. Get those plugs out ASAP

"Vtec" kicks in at 2200 rpm in a k20a3.

Fuel filter is fine. Change your plugs. You do know where it is right?

Every other oil change is excessive unless you are beyond the average i/rh/e kpro combo.

Waaaay too often on iridium plugs. On a side note, I WTB all your used plugs that were only used for two oil change intervals.

At 15 bucks a plug I am not changing those suckers every other oil change! Maybe I'll shoot for some plugs and better my already banging 30 MPGs when driving nice!

I checked the plugs a couple of months ago and they still looked great. I will check them again. I just wanna be sure it is those before I drop all that money on them.
