i'm taking my valve cover off to paint it. my question is do i need to buy a new gasket or can i still use the original?

i reused mine, but beware do not tighten valve cover bolts toooo tight or youll pop them off very easily, i learned this.

 

Also if you'r valve cover has been removed a couple of times you might want to pick one up and slap it on there. Mine was removed about 3-4 times and the last time I put it on there was noticeable leaks. So I had to replace it .
