Default vortex 520 kit

as some of you may know. my 05 cbr 600rr came with rear arm extenders on it from the dealer. the back is stretched out over 6". i wanted to put the wheel back where it should be, so i purchased the vortex 520 kit -1/+2 in a 15/45. it also comes with a RK520xso gold chain. so i am on the way to bringing it back. i was wondering if anyone has any experience with the brand or this exact setup??

It's a good kit. If you went with an aluminum rear sprocket it won't last as long as a steel one, but other than that I think you will be happy with the results.

I installed it on my 600rr. I have no complaints so far. I went -1 in the front, stock in the back. rpms are higher, mph is off. thats all.

If you're gonna go 520 don't be a ****** and get **** sprockets. Get the following for 520:

AFM front sprocket
Stealth Rear Sprocket
DID 520 chain

Yes, I have a -1/+2 setup on an 01 f4i and at a true 40mph your speedo will read about 45mph and at 70mph it reads about 80mph. I have the vortex sprockets with DID chain and I have zero complaints thus far. However, the next time I do new sprockets and chain I am going to keep the front sprocket stock and go with a +4 rear. It will give you the exact same results as a -1/+2 setup without the extra wear of the smaller front sprocket. There is a huge writeup on it over on sportbikes.net and because of the smaller front sprocket the chain has to make a tighter turn around the shaft making the chain wear faster. Just my .02
