I sent my oil into blackstone last year. at that time i was just using valvoline durablend, and i sheared 5w30 down to 5w20 in about 10 autocrosses. They advised me to run this synthetic oil that i think is made from soy beans. according to terry Dyson, it is the best thing they have tested. i took a tour of the factory (barn) and was really impressed. anyhow i have ran about 9 events, averaging 5-6 runs and put about 1200 miles one it. i will probably do 2-3 more events this year. i don't know if i am good to go for the last few event or if i should just run some off the self synthetic to finish out the year.

 

i havent changed my oil since ummm febuary of this year, ive done over 20 events... but i dont daily drive the car....

so lets say 1800 mile and then 20+ events. you should be fine

im running elf racing oil thought 0w20 or was it 0w30 i ferget

still looks pretty dam clean when i check dipstick but that prolly doesnt mean much

 

i don't daily drive it either. only to and from events.
i wonder if i should just use an off the shelf synthetic instead of this special bio oil?

 

i dont think it will hurt... but im sure itlll last you next couple events run un less u have another like 10+ events to go

 

I've done about 350+ autocrosses in 10 years and changed it 3000-5000 miles using Amsoil or Mobil syntethic blend. If I would attend a large event like a Tour or Divisionals I would change it the night before.

 

I change mine every 3k miles with royal purple, which averages out to be about 4-5 autox's and 1 track day every oil change.

 

I used to do mine before every event. I ran one a month. Changing my oil cost about $25- and I thought....what could it hurt?

 

i used to change mine every couple events with lots of daily drivin. i used to do 2 or so events a month though...

Now i change it after every road race weekend ,,no daily ridin anymnore....... some would say its overkill but who are they

 

I don't autox. I change oil on my racecar after 6 race weekend. I only use synthetic oil.
