everything is going wrong?
alright so I have shifted once again to British Columbia, and I thought that this time, I might actually register and insure my car - thus requiring a safety inspection.
I only signed up for a tune-up cuz that's all I really needed, and here's what they had to say:
I need to replace an arm bushing
and CV boot
Rotate Machine Drums
And replace a power steering rack
oh yea and that my power steering is leaking like a bitch.
anyhow I've goe one of those huge manuals so I'm going to research that, but... what ARE these things? which ones are most important? how long can I drive before something falls apart?
there are some obvious things I can do immediately, but a power steering rack (and apparently an engine mount) and all that crap... necessary?
regardless, if I go through with everything, it'll cost me like $2400 without breaking a sweat.
now given, the mechanic I talked to understood my situation (as a 22 year old with no money and lucky to have something as nice as a CR-V) and knew that it wasn't affordable and suggested aftermarket things...
anyways, any help would be much appreciated
thanks.

chedck out a site called slchondaparts.com they have all factory parts at cost prices, when i was rebuilding my old civic i found some of the most obscure parts for about 60% of the cost. and the best part is, they are factory honda parts. i recomend this site for anyone who wants quality but for a good price.
and if you are handy the bushing should not be too hard to do your self. all you need is a couple of socket, maybe a sawzall, and a table vice. i did all mine myself. the drums you might as well just buy new ones cause they shouldnt be that expensive for some pepboys ones, the cv joint you need a certain kind of tool to do that so if you have a crapload of miles on the axel you should just replace it cause when you buy one, you give the old one back and get about 60 to 80$ back. and the rack you should look on that site i told you about. or call around to diff junkyards
