i work at my local honda dealership and got to drive a new v6 accord coupe and dam those cars are fast with 268hp and 248 torque makes the 03-07 accord motor look weak with only 244 hp and 211 torque the car was a blast to drive and handles like butter but the price is to high for me lol coming in at $31,950 for an ex-l (navi included) has anybody else got a chance to test drive one yet????

Not to rain on your parade, but are you sure it was much faster than the 03-07 6 speed? As far as I have seen, the 08 AV6-6 puts out basically the same 0-60 and 1/4 mile numbers. You have to remember, there is plenty more weight to go with that 24 more hp. The increase in torque might have your butt dyno all excited

lol haha yeah hopefully ill get to drive one i got to drive it again today dude i love that car lol
yeh, the new accords are much heavier than old ones, so i'm sure they are not that much faster than the 03-07's, the 8th gens look very bulky and fat, like g35's and g37's, but just because it looks fatter doesn't mean it's heavier, i.e. tsx weighs more than 7th gen accord
I want to see a track race between an 09 Si and a Accord V6 6spd. If they had two equally skilled drivers I bet it would be a very close race. IMO Honda has pumped out the best overall handling Accord EVER. I even gave one a body flex test and I could still open the door when I had it in the position that I had to fight older ones to even open.
Can't wait to see what the future brings for Accords. It's only going to get better.

yeah honda's are good cars i've had 4 so far and if you get a chance to drive a new accord go for it
the 2009 honda accords v6 are now pushing 271hp-254lbs torque not 268hp....compared to 03-07 244hp-211 torque is a difference but i wouldnt say the 03-07 is weak, same engine just more power.
Our 06 Accord V6 6Speed sedan isn't slow. I wouldn't call it fast either as it's no 11 second car but I would call it fast for a Honda. Especially a stock one. Well, I have a K&N drop in but performance wise other than that it's stock. That didn't make it feel any faster though.
For one thing i would not want the 6 speed with the navi. for me it too much to concentrate on while driving. the 6speed felt super nice and the response was xxxelent. Ending up going with the 08 v6 AUTO w/navi. Best car i have ever owned.

Why would the 6 speed be too much? The Navi system is voice activated... Unless you're driving like the 18 speed F&F crew it shouldn't be an issue??

We don't have the factory navigation system in the 06 we have as we opted for a Garmin Nuvi 350 that way we can easily update it and switch it between cars. It however is great and isn't too much with the 6speed. Not sure how it would be too much unless you are just learning to drive a manual and trying to play with the navigation at the same time as learning how to drive the manual.
