Default NRG Quick Release - Where do i begin?

I want to step up my security and start using a quick release hub. I know absolutely nothing about them and how everything works.

Can someone fill me in on what i need, and how everything works? Can i use my OEM steering wheel etc.

--- [freak]. Anyone know of a steering wheel that looks oem? I don't want any of that "ricer" brought onto me or my car. I never want to be associated with being in that crowd.

That alone will make me not want this much needed upgrade.

best security upgrade i did, was simple if you have stick shift, take the switch that thats on your clutch(the one that enable you to start the car) and cut and extend the wires to a hidden switch this way the car cant be started w/o the hidden switch being pressed or flipped.... just an idea, i was gonna go the same route with the steering wheel but couldnt find one i really loved...

if its automatic, take your colum apart and do the same thing directly from the ignition switch

--- Ya, i was thinking that to go along with my fuel cut. I am going to hook up my alarm my own way with my own customer ignition cut also, but i think i am going to invest in lo-jack before a alarm. I just don't know how to get around letting them let me install it without voiding the warranty.

a quick release hub will give you 'on the fly' security only. say you park at the mall and spend a very small amount of time inside, a passerby would-be thief wouldnt have the right tools (hopefully) or time to break in and drive away.

now if you gave a thief time, say overnight, it will do nothing. thats what happened to me. they pryed off the lock hub with a hammer and two nails, then drove away using vice grips.

im using the personal suede steering wheel with red stitch to match the itr interior, this months honda-tuning mag lists the 4 most popular removable wheels

Have you looked at Nardi wheels? e.g. the Nardi Classic. Not OEM style (unless you're into Ferrari's or Porsche's) but high quality Italian racing wheels are hardly rice

--- Just not my style. Nothing about that steering wheel looks high quality to me. I am just simply not going to get this set up because of the steering wheel selection. Oh well.

Well, it's pretty obvious you've never seen or touched one then

Nardi = The nice.

I had one in my ITR way back before people started commonly putting Nardi's in Honda's. I kind of wish quick release systems were readily available back then.

I'd personally laugh at anyone who carried around a quick release steering wheel that had an airbag attached to it. That's basically an explosive device.

yea it is a very good security device, expecially with the lock hub. I have a personal wheel, but I am definantly considering getting nardi. Hopefully you'll realize a lot of aftermarket wheels are pretty quality and add a nice layer of security to your car.
