Default So i cleaned my iacv

01 ls.bs.140k i had an unusual idle so i cleaned the iac, put it back on and after warm up it idles fine...push the throttle, release throttle rpm dips down to 100 and then up to 500. i tested the valve using direct battery power and its fine.has anyone else had this problem or know anything about this. oh yea i used carb cleaner.

Are you positive you replaced everything you took off when you did it?

so you tap the throttle and your idle dips down to 100 then comes back up. Could be something else. Dirty injectors? 140k miles.. possible

Get a manual any generic one from Pepboys it has some troubleshooting steps on there for IAC, IAB i believe. Correct me if I am wrong, but double-check everything, check if that carb cleaner didnt eat the gasket of the component itself. OR take it off it again and take a a clear picture of it. Post it on here.

no cel. everything hooked up the way it came off im mecanically inclined so yea. also there is a screen on the iac that was bubbled out i cleaned it and pushed it in...later got pin punched through and pulled screen back towards me...after i let go of throttle rpm goes to 100 then up to 500 still not the 800 im looking for. also i dont belive that the drastic dip in rpm is normal.

check your tps calibration thingy mabob im pretty sure thats your problem IF your map and tps arent switched and all your plugs are plugged in correctly, and all your sensors are in working order.

I doubt its his TPS sensor calibration.

Make sure all of your vacuum lines are hooked back up. And did you reset your ecu after you cleaned your IACV?
