Default Y-1 Trans grinding after it warms up

I have a 90 hf hatch with a b16a1/y1 swap and I'm having some minor to moderate grinding going into 3rd and 4th. I'm not sure if its the linkage bushings @ the shift or if I have some other more serious issue. I Just put an exedy organic clutch on it but the problem existed prior to the up grade. Is it possible that I have the wrong fluid in my trans? I used Royal Purple syncromaxx (i think) Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Y1 gearboxes are known for grinding issues unfortunately. As far as fluid goes, Honda MTF is always 1st choice, but if grinding is an issue, many people use GM syncromesh as a sometimes easy fix.
The only company i know that sells replacement/upgraded parts for the jdm Y1 is Gearspeed, that'll make your tranny better than new.
