Kind of an odd ball build!!!
B16 Darton MID (bore - 85mm)
B17 Crank (stroke - 81.4mm)
Custom Crower maxlite rods (139mm) 5mm longer than B16 rod R/S 1.70
Custom Cp Pisons 11.5:1 using a 19mm wrist pin
Total displacement - 1847 cc's
What do you guys think, give me some input. Possible changes that could make this build better, please don't state 89mm stroke.

I'm pretty dead set on a Bisi header. As far as the head it will be a B16 im not sure who I'm going to get to do the head work or even cam or induction yet. Maybe a performer x 70mm tapered tbody, w/ some pro 1's or m22xx's

With that displacement and stroke it's going to be a challenge. GL though.

I'd like too see that, but to tell you the truth there hasn't been that many people use the 81.4 crank and theres not alot of info out there on what they are capable of.
Ages ago Mike K built a 1.8L using a b17 crank. Endyn ported the head for a 2L and Mike ran an SMSP header designed for a 2L. With ~12.5:1 static CR and Jun 2 cams it made ~140 ft/lbs and well >200whp. Both Dave and Larry said that had they done their work for a 1.8L Mike would have seen substantial gains.
Cool build.

Yea I think I was just reading about that build in the archives. I am seriously considering this build maybe a little less conservative on my compression though.
I guess that my take on compression is that I like to have reasonable flexibility with fuel, spark, etc. ~12:1 seems enough for good cams e.g. S2 Pro 2s, and I can run it daily on pump gas with decent ignition timing.

I've got the following parts for a similar build:
B16 block with GE sleeves at 84mm bore
B17 crank
B17 rods going out to Metal Improvement Company for shotpeening.
Haven't purchased pistons yet because I haven't decided if I'm going all-motor or JRSC.
I was under the impression the pistons can be B16 spec (as far as the wrist pin position). Is this correct or do I need custom pistons?

Yes, b16 and b17 should be compatible.

Yes you can retain stock b16 pistons (P30, pr3). The only reason why I am doing custom pistons is b/c of the custom rod length that I am wanting.
