Default Quick Question

Well I've searched around and I can't find the threads I'm looking for.

I need to know how to check if my radiator fan switch is bad, I know you have to unplug it at operating temperatures, close a circuit, and if it comes on its bad, or something similar.

I also need to know if anyone has ever had a problem with their temperature gauges reading incorrectly. My temp gauge has never gone over the normal operating temperature range, and lately I dont think my cooling fan has been kicking on, does anyone know the correct operating voltages/a procedure to check the gauge?

My setup: Aluminum radiator, stock fan, probably about 50% coolant, 50% water wetter & distilled water. JDM B18C R, all stock save for I/E. No coolant disappearing, so steam from the car, water pump was replaced when the swap was done back in march. After running the engine is seriously hot enough to burn anyone touching the valve cover or intake manifold.

Yeah its a single core half size, The fan isn't turning on as far as I can see, but the temp gauge isn't ever getting hot.

Whats the proper procedure to check the thermostat switch on the fan?

suspend the fan switch and a thermometer in a container with a 50/50 mix of water/coolant. heat the container, do not let the fan switch or thermometer to touch the bottom of the container. Check for continuity at the terminals, between 181 and 191F (83 - 91C) there should not be continuity, between 191 and 203F (91 - 95C) you should have continuity.

Does anyone have any idea how to check the voltages to my coolant temp gauge so I can make sure it isn't [freak]ed up?
