does anyone know the where to get an oem b18c OIL COOLER? Part #? other questions too
do all b18c / b18c5 motors have this? or do some b16s have this too?
does the oil cooler have a temperature bypass valve?
will it fit LS block for LSVTEC swap?
should I just get a aftermarket one? ---heard OEM one is 700 bucks from acura
tried searching... can't find info
thx

no USDM b16's have them
OBD0 JDM B16's have them
OBD1 GSR USDM/JDM have them
OBD2 Type R motor has them
hope this helps. Will it fit? not easily, you need to tap the block for the coolant feed line... unless you have a B18A. I think if you have a B18A block the hole is tapped and blocked off with a bolt. Might need to check on that
I think on some early OBD1 B16 blocks it is tapped on the block but also plugged with a bolt. Need to check on that also.
These coolers are pretty nice for warming up your oil (since the coolant heats up b4 oil does) and lowering oil temp if it gets really hot. No idea how effective it is, but it is always fun to watch Honda trim features.
Even some OBD-0 and OBD-1 D series motors had oil coolers, forget exactly which models, but they are SMALLER than the B series.

You can buy the parts new for around $300.
I have a used one, make me an offer.
They are also on the 85-87 CRX Si.

Did you have your block replaced or something?
Take a photo?

^My block was never replaced. I'm going to have to look at it tonight because now I'm stumped.

yup, if you have an original block, you have an oil cooler.
Just look where your oil filter fits on the back of your block. You will see a the cooler sandwiched between the block and the filter with two hoses coming out, one going to the block and one going to the water pipe that leads to the thermostat and radiator.

will the oil cooler fit on an LS?
Is an aftermarket one better? I can get one for $250 -$300 for a good one with a temp bypass.
Which one would you go with? OEM or aftermarket?

Here is an ITR oil cooler on my B20Z...

I used a 3/8 NPT tap. It matches the stock coolant pipe from the ITR oil cooler. I also used the heater core hole to feed the coolant, being that I'm not going to run a heater core. If you are going to run a heater make sure you get the correct pipe from the ITR. It works excellent.
