That's indeed a great deal.

I recently bought one. (Not from len; I needed it quickly.) I talked to the parts department at my dealer (I was having the work done by an independent mechanic) and they were happy to sell one to me at "wholesale", which means 20 percent off, the same price they give to local independents. So it was $1,9XX plus tax. I wouldn't be surprised if most dealer parts departments would be willing to sell an item that expensive for wholesale, if you asked them nicely. Still, it won't be as low as Len's price, which includes shipping and there is no sales tax (except if you live in Georgia).

damn dood, if only you posted this sooner! I just left my job as a parts advisor at Acura!

i had 2 at work for a week before i sent it back to Honda since the customer flaked. I sold one to my friend at cost +10% which comes up to approx $2000CAD after taxes. considering you're in seattle, i could've sold you the other one for the same price (just to spite my boss).

but yah, it'll be cheaper buying a new complete tranny cuz i priced out all the parts to rebuild the tranny (not including the LSD/housing..just the guts) for the same friend and it cost more than a complete (which comes in a cool cardboard crate btw )

No.

And I don't know whether that's a bad price on an LS tranny. The list price on the GS-R tranny is exactly the same as the ITR tranny, so $1800 is a great price on either one.

I don't know if I like Len + Mike anymore, they have been adding a +10% hard parking tax onto my recent orders.

just for fun, i looked on ebay and it looks like you can get one for 1850 BIN with 85 shipped. even if you went with live.com's 8% rebate, you're looking at slightly less than 1800... but that's after waiting 60 days for a rebate. bottom line? GO WITH LEN.
