im planning to buy an EK or EG n do a k20 swap.
da guy im getin da motor from only has da motor n trans (no intake manifold, no headers, no exhaust, ders nothing connected to da motor bt da trans)
wat else do i need to make it run (i mean everything) n how much u think ill be spendin for just da parts?! PLS... HELP... ME... LOLZ...

on a serious note, bro theres so mmany things into starting a car besides a bare long block with a tranny.

if you dont know the basic necessities a car need to just start, you shouldnt be doing any K series swap, or any swap at that.

 

you gottah be more specific. there so many things you need done to get a kswap in your car. you got about couple more grands to spend before it runs.

To list a few things, you need wiring harness, mounts, ECU, axles, shifter kit, idler pulley, aftermarket fuel rail, fuel pressure regulator with gauge, fuel lines...

all im getting is 6500 n everything else is goin to college n im unemployed. lolz
im already spending a little over 1g for da motor & trans (less than 30,xxx miles). is that a deal or wat?!

What K20 is it? You'll be spending over $2500 in just parts to get it installed.

 

all i noe dat its a k20 5spd less than 30,xxx miles.
all da labor is goin to be for free.
all im worried about is dat am i goin to have enough money to get it done.

Sounds like a K20A3 from an 02-05 Si. It's an ok motor, not the best K.

To be on the safe side, you are looking at $2,500-3,000 in parts.

 

probably another 1500 depends if ur buyin aftermaket things or stock things like dizzy nd mani nd ect..

 

Your gonna need....

Intake, Exhaust (Complete), all the trans linkage crap..., all the harnasses, motor mounts (a kit since its a different engine) Um possibly axles...I'm not exactly sure because I have never done that swap. I'm planning on doing a b16 or b18 and i'm in college as well but im just gonna get the engine and work on it on the side before i put it in. Hit me up if you got any more questions or if your working on a budget.

Exactly my thoughts, with the money your going to be spending on an A3, you could get a well specced B, if your going to do the job, do it right, get the best engine you can.

If your planning to get an ek or eg what k20 engine are you using? k20a or k20a2? no matter what ur going to need k pro if you want to be budget u can get an prb/prc manifold, dc header basically all the bang for u buck parts but if you have a lil bit more money to spend? spend it on fuel rail, fuel lines wire tucks, ground system on what ev you need. If you get an ek, my best suggestion is ekk2 mounts if your running n/a meaning you would need to swap out the ek subframe unit to an eg or dc. If your running boost on the ek use ekk1 dont need to swap out ur subframe unit ekk1 just gives you room to mess around in the back for turbo set up.

 

first you need a dictionary.
install spell check on your pc. (or mac)
i havent checked your status but im guessing your a trial user
and unless you got it for free or unless you really have it and im assuming you dont. but just in case you do. depending on what your swapping it into you need mounts, tranny, manifold, exhaust piping, headers, etc etc etc etc etc
k swap isnt just a walk in the park.

but just start with the dictionary part.

 

i have an eg. ihave the k20 full swap. all i need is mount but thats no problem. but i need 2 no about the harness that i would need. n how would i do it

 

still need the harness, i have one one, that came with my motor yesterday when i bought it, a k20a2 i bought to rebuild, but i plan on replacing everything including wireharness no packs/ plugs though, i was surprised he threw in the harnes with the motor but not the packs lol
