so i'm driving to work this morning in downtown dallas , and i ran into this guy i know whos a lawyer.....well hes talking to me in the parking lot telling me how he likes my car....and i'm taking a look at his Black 850i with some 17 inch bbs wheels ...this car is huge ...and he says, "i'll trade you your car for mine" and i laugh...and i come to find out hes not joking....i told him i'd think about it....which i'm not gonna think about it...no way i'm getting rid of the ITR ....but i just thought it was koo that he admired my car that much

 

Trade him. That way, when you finally wreck from street racing, you'll be better protected.

The smartedst thing to do is run far away from the BMW 850I, That is one of the worst cars BMW ever produced along with the 750I. I worked for a high end European Dealer for a while and The 12 cyl Beemers are definatly unreliable when the milage gets up there. Can you say $3500 just to do head gaskets, nothing else just head gaskets replacement. To much money to repair.

I know alot of you want the Beemer for "pimp status" but you need to look at the big picture. When you see an 850 you say "Big Baller", I say "Sucks to be him"
If it is a early 90s 850 it is only worth mid $20, or High teeens at an auction.

What year was the BMW? If it was a 93+, it IS worth more than the ITR if the mileage is reasonable. What a wierd trade though.

I dunno...a v12 is pretty cool but 4000lbs isnt. Regardless, I go for the more valuable car and try to make some money on the whole thing.

Matt: Properly maintained they are reliable. I know quite a few people who own 850s. But, looking at the "big picture" = trade him the pos honda rice burner for a the BMW, then sell it to someone who wants it, and then buy a good car to replace the BMW. Like a 97 R Around here a good condition 850 will fetch a good bit more than an R, maybe not in his area tho.

you, my friend, are crazy. your comparing a 130k car to a 25k car. resale on 97 850's is around 30k. resale on 97 itrs is around 18k. do the math

94 is def worth more than a Type-Rice. Check it checked out by a dealership and trade him. Just my opinion, but you're a fucktard if you don't imo

 

If that is the case, you would be crazy NOT to trade him (assuming everything with the car was okay). A 94 with miles like that is worth around $30K easy, so sell it and buy your s2000.

Of course, if the ITR fulfills all your needs in a car, then I guess none of this really matters. But, if someone offered me the same deal, my ITR would be gone faster than I could blink and I would be a couple grand richer after selling the 850.
