Civic w/GSR swap help????
I was wondering if I should use a stock P72 ecu with my gsr swap or a P28 chipped?? I know if I use the P28 I have to switch my intake manifold due to it having the secondary butterfly and the P28 has no control for that, or if I should just keep the stock intake manifold with the butterflies and get a P72 ecu, then later chip out my P72??
either way..
just unhook the butterflies, had much better results on a dyno without them working, you can even remove them all together if you should so desire.

well i bought the car with a P28 in it, the guy said it was supposed to be chipped with some sort of switch to turn it off and back in to stock P28 mode. the switch is right above the chip inside the ecu. I turned it off (to P28 stock mode) and it ran quicker and faster then when the switch was on. BUT it would cut out at idle sumtimes and I'd get a CEL for Fuel Supply System. With the switch on, it seems to be more slower but it doesnt cut out at idle or anything, idles and runs fine. Thats why I was asking if which ecu I should go for, I happen to know some one selling a p72 for $100 and I was gonna buy it but wanted yall some one elses input on it before I do buy it.
Edit** Im thinking who ever chipped out the ecu doesnt know what the hell he's doing!!!

yea thats what I was thinking. Also I was reading up on the butterflies and actually they're helpful in a way, they give you more low-midrange power as for the type r intake has more top end power and less low-midrange power.
