back firing???
mine is nowhere close to boosted lol jus bolt-ons intake headers and exhaust...could it be cuz its running really rich?? cuz it smells real rich??? idk?? help plz!
yea, I think that's why, My brothers Nova does this, it's because the hot exhaust pipes ignites the gas that collects on it.
Might be one of your cylinders isn't getting spark, and that could be how the gas gets their.
I have no idea how to fix a car that runs rich if it is not carb.
I've asked here before and got no responses.

the reason it backfires in the exhaust is cus either your have a small leak in the exhaust which sucks air in on decel and ignites the excess fuel or your runnin so rich that it hits a hot spot in the exhaust and ignites itself. its nothing to worry about except if it gets too much fuel in the exhaust (constant cranking but no spark) that you can make your muffler a bomb haha. ive seen it happen with a muffler and an oil pan.

hahah sounds good. let us know what color the plug tips are cus that can tell alot about an engine. hahah and dont worry about the oil pan problem, it was an old monte carlo that was carbd and he flooded it so bad that it went past the rings and gatherd in the pan. then it finally started and KABOOM!!!!
i have the 02 sensor on the #4 cyl header outlet or whatever its calld, and i heard if i take that one off and put it to the plug before the cat, it will correct the mixture?
is that correct??
is that correct??
white can also mean coolant too. well if the number 4 cyl is buring oil it will coat the o2 and cause improper readings but if you put it before the cat like you said it may correct it slightly by not directly getting it fowled by oil. hows your idle and driveability
