2008 element oil change

Default 2008 element oil change

this is my fathers car, he asked me to change his oil, i did it but the dash oil indication still says 60% of the engine life has been used. how do you reset this feature. it doesnt say in the owners manual

You should really wait till the oil life gets to 15%. You aren't benefiting anything by changing it earlier than that.
Regardless, push and hold the trip/ reset button till the % flashes, release the button then push and hold it again until it resets to 100%

if this is your first oil change dont do it untill it says to for proper break in. The engineers aren't honda engineers by chance, they choose the best of the best.

Yep, the oil percentage is dead on as far as what we see at the dealerships. 15% or less is the magic number.

it was at like 2200 miles, my dad told me to do it, i did it. i didnt think of the miles.

its ok to follow jsut this? no more stickers?

no more stickers. 2200 miles was way too early to change the oil. The factory fill oil has break in additives that need to stay in there until it's due to be changed.

it's generally in the 230's range of the owners manual.

typically:

hit select/reset button until oil life displayed
hold select/reset button for 10 seconds or until flashing release
hold select reset button until 100% displayed

done
