Default Replacing an alternator (D16Z6)

Is this tough to do on these engines? About how much can I expect to pay for a decent alternator, and would it even be worth it to attempt to go pull one from a junk yard?

A alternator job is a easy one, I purchased my alternator from honda, however I recommend a advance auto, pep boys, or napa, go somewhere that will warrenty a product. Do a yahoo search for those places youll get a online price. Don't go to the junk yard your probably just going to end up with a alternator that won't work or will need replacing shortly after. Good luck

It can be, if the bottom bolt seizes they can be a royal pain in the ***.

If its been sitting out in the yard and you have to pull it probably not, around here they only last about 3 weeks outside sitting without being turned over before they seize. Maybe if you live in a dry climate it might be ok. At least check it make sure it turns freely and has some sort of exchange policy if it doesn't work.

they are easy as pie to change, and its best to buy one with a lifetime warranty. that way when it craps out you can just exchange it
