Default crx Spyder restoration

It's almost complete so I thought I would share my progress with you guys.

For those of you that do not know is was an option new and they made 310 of them, this is one of the two I own.

They come up for sale regularly here in California, I did not buy the first 3 or 4 I say because I wanted an Si so I got this one as soon as I saw it and got the money together.

My second one I came accross a few months ago sitting in a local junkyard and had to save it.

I went back with a few friends and we swapped parts from all the other crx's in the yard to make the car a little more complete and I then bought it. This will be my next project when the silver convertible is finished.

Awesome Doug!!! Glad you are saving these small parts of Honda history.

Makes me wish I still had my 86 Si. One day I'll get another one. Keep up the good work.

Awesome lookin car! But would you mind giving more details on this type of CRX? So the US had these OEM?

EDIT: I couldn't wait for answers, so i looked on wikipedia:

"The R. Straman Company of Costa Mesa, CA converted 310 Honda CR-X's into convertibles from 1984 to 1987. The Straman-built CR-X Spyder was the cover car on July, 1984 issue of Road & Track Magazine. These conversions are known as a coach convertible."

Yes he is the original owner, I think also slimwitman is also the original owner and he also wrote the wikipedia article you spoke of. There are 4 or 5 of them on cardonain with mine being one of them.

I try to contact the owners when I find another crx spyder and I collect pictures of them. Here is my picture collection from the last 3 years.

1 or 2 of them are not Straman convertibles but the rest are.
