how hard are they to replace and do i need any special tools?

yes you need a tool to replace them, with the tool its pretty straight forward.

?? really? i'm pretty sure you can take them out with a standard set of metric tools.

EDIT: I'm sure a specialized tool would make it easier, though. Go to the dealership, and ask if you can check out their room full of honda specific specialized tools.

If your manly, you can use a couple of different sized screwdrivers, and a couple of crescent wrenches. Don't even plan on not beating the **** out of it without the pickle fork though.
