I have a 1998 Honda Civic LX, 100k mikes. auto, all stock. It runs fine except for 1 small irritating problem. If I come off the gas and coast for any length of time (over 2 or 3 seconds), when I get back on the gas, the engine seems to stumble/hesitate for just a bit. After that point, it runs just fine. All the usual maintenance items are up to date (filters/timing, etc). Any suggestions as to the cause of the problem?

 

Are you sure its not the transmission. Mine would stutter badly until I did a fresh fluid change. Or it could just be the fact that the autos are very slow. Sometimes they hunt for gears. Does your engine rev ok?
