2-wire IACV to 3-wire IACV wiring and idle problems
I've read up on the wiring diagrams, but I'm not sure what to do here. I have a 3-wire IACV (96-00 AT IACV) and a MT wiring harness that utilizes the 2-wire IACV. I ran the obvious wires, but I'm stuck as to what to do with the orange one. The IACV is brand new and with the current wiring setup fluctuates between 1.5-2000 rpm.
Interestingly the car idles high without the IACV plugged in at all, which makes me think that there is something else at play as well. The TB ports aren't clogged and there aren't any vacuum leaks... I honestly don't know what is going on. I've had 3 IACV's and may just switch to a z6 IM with a regular IACV. I dunno.
Thanks for any help,
Sean

when using the 3 wire you will need the orange wire to go to the ecu as well. the 3 wire iac has 2 wires going to the ecu instead of just one. if you look at some ecu pinouts on ff squad you should see where the orange wire needs to go.

you need to do the opposite of what it is telling you to do there. good luck.
