Default CV Shaft problem, won't come out of tranny!!!!!!

I am stuck in Baudette, MN. I broke a cv shaft here and it is stuck inside the transmission. Everyone i have talked to tells me to keep on pulling on it, it will come out. I have tried every trick in the book, i am about to just rip the tranny apart and take it out. It has about an inch of play in and out of the transmission but once you pull it out an inch it gets stuck. Any suggestions would be helpfull, thank you......

try putting a crow bar or flat head screwdiver between the tranny and the cv joint and pry like hell

sounds like the split ring is giving you issues...

if the crow bar does not work.. try sliding it in a bit and pulling it out fast and hard..

a chisel and sledge hammer will always do the trick..just have the right size chisel..

stick the chisel between the trans and cv joint and bang it till it comes out..

if that wont work get a pocket srew driver and pry on the split ring from the opposite axle hole and pry on the cv joint at the same time...it should release.

dont pull. pry it out with a pry bar. you dont want to rip the boot or drop the bearings inside the joint.

if you can get it out an inch, i dont see why you can bang it out further.

usually the hard part is just separating it.

I'm willing to bet it was stuck on the C-Clip that holds the axle in, i ALWAYS have a problem with those coming out crowbars usually get the job done pretty quick unless the clip itself broke.

Good to hear you got it out. You should probably replace the clips on the ends if their not on the new axle already.
