Default Distributor mount busted

the top bolt hole where you mount the distributor is broken off and i never noticed it before till the distributor started wobbling a few days ago and making a clicking noise. I haven't driven the car in quite some time so i'm not sure exactly when it started doing it but I changed the oil and started it up and it was clicking so i looked around the the dizzy wobbles. Could this be a bent cam or it is just because of the missing mount. And what would i have to do to replace that because I think it's connected to the rocker arm assembly. 1996 Accord LX 2.2 SOHC F22B2

Has the dist been removed/replaced?

As in; if the dist shaft tab was crammed into the cam slot 180 degree out of time?

if it has been replaced I was not involved in it, all i've ever done to this accord was replace the alternator and battery. I've been looking around to see what i needed to replace to correct this and what would this part be named it's like the camshaft journal or something, and how do i take apart the rocker arm assembly to get it off. i'm trying to include a picture of what i'm talking about but i'm not sure how to post pictures, i'm a noob to this forum

To post a picture on here you first need to host the picture on a site like PhotoBucket. Then once the image is uploaded to that site, you take the images URL and post it between the IMG tags in you post and thats it. If you have any questions, go like you are replying to my post and click "quote", I'll be posting an image so you'll see how I did it.

As for your question, the part that broke is one of your cam caps. See the diagram below...

now some manufacturers machine those as a matched set to the head, not sure if Honda does that or not. But due to not being able to buy the cap alone makes me think they do. So you'd have to get a set from a salvage yard or something seeing as it doesn't look like you can buy those from Honda.

You da man. I was gonna go search a junk yard for one but i just wanted to see what it was called and how it came apart. got a buddy that runs a junk yard and he has f22b2 galore. figured i'd throw him a six pack and go to work on one of the junkers. I really appreciate it.

no problem...

you'll need to remove the rocker assembly as well...

You may want to pick up a service manual to show you the steps involved. I'd recommend a Helm manual

Awesome I got a Helm manual when i had to do a valve job on my wife's accord. hopefully this is much less time consuming than that was. and Helm is a superb book

yeah, this should be less work than a valve job. And if you already have a Helm manual and have done a valve job then I doubt you'll have any problems with this
